Why can’t you use the soil of a garden?

That’s because it’s where all the fun and energy of growing the plant is.
A garden soil that’s fertile, not too sandy, and with plenty of oxygen and nutrients can provide a good base for growing your own vegetables, herbs, and other foodstuffs.
