Why do so many people garden outdoors in the winter?

In the spring, many people are choosing to garden outdoors because of the abundance of fruits and vegetables and the warmer temperatures, said Julie Schumann, executive director of the Oregon State Gardeners Association.

Many of them are also looking to eat some healthy foods outside and get some exercise in between.

“It’s a really good way to spend some time outside and spend time with friends and family,” Schumann said.

“You can eat as many fruits and veggies as you want and get out and get fresh air, even if you’re indoors.”

Some people will not garden outdoors for health reasons, and that’s OK, she said.

People who are vegans, vegetarians, vegans or lactose-intolerant can still enjoy outdoor living, said Schumann.

Schumann said the association does not recommend people start gardening right away.

“The main thing to keep in mind is, you have to be prepared for the winter, whether you want to do it or not,” she said, adding that if you can’t prepare yourself to deal with the cold or snow, then it’s not a good idea.

“When you get outdoors in cold weather, you are more vulnerable,” Schuman said.

The most important thing is to keep your eyes open and be aware of the things that are out there that are not readily available,” she added.

You need to have the right tools, but also understand the environmental consequences,” she continued. “

It’s not an easy thing to do,” Schumans statement said.

“You need to have the right tools, but also understand the environmental consequences,” she continued.

“I think the main thing is, just remember, it’s your backyard, so be careful.”
